I'm a Venus in Scorp, too. Longest I ever went was 5.... years, living in a very secluded paradise in the hills. Way too spartan, I guess. Must be my conjuct Saturn/Venus. Damn! The "needs signs" are something I've observed in partners but not so much myself. My "self" is usually very into other things when I am not maintaining a love-life, so I don't find myself substituting masturbation for love-making. If I'm idle I'm much more likely to want some kind of high, sexual or otherwise. But, as others said, that is when there is no object of one's affection in the environment. When that person/s in my private life there is a *constant* desire to express myself sexually with them. Passion comes in many forms and in some cases one that can't be expressed is transferred to one that can, even if negative. In a way, the "needs signs" can also be signs one needs a life that has passion/zest. When yours is genuine you may find yourself in small company... even solo. In my experience, partners most frustrated over frequency of sex and or relationship issues needed a lot more than sex to fill out their own life, but they didn't see it that way.
